The Governor's House, also known as Raj Bhavan, is a two-storied mansion reminiscent of a typical English country house. It serves as the official residence of the Governor of Uttarakhand. History:
Originally built in 1899, the Governor's House was initially known as the Government House. It served as the summer residence of the Governors of the United Provinces during the British Raj. Following India's independence and the formation of Uttarakhand in 2000, it became the official residence of the state's Governor. Designed in a charming Victorian Gothic style, it retains much of its original character. The building has witnessed significant historical events and hosted numerous dignitaries over the years, adding to its historical importance.
