History:
The Clock Tower, or Ghanta Ghar, was constructed before the reorganization of Uttar Pradesh (now Uttarakhand) in 1948. It was inaugurated in 1953 by Lal Bahadur Shastri. It was built in the pre-independence era. The tower's construction was a significant event for the city, marking a new era of progress and development. Over the years, the Clock Tower has witnessed numerous historical events and has become an integral part of Dehradun's identity.
