Coaker's Walk is a paved pedestrian pathway that runs along the edge of a steep slope in Kodaikanal, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding hills, valleys, and the town below. History:
Coaker's Walk was constructed in 1872 by Lieutenant Coaker, a British officer, during the colonial era. It was originally built to provide a scenic walking path for the residents of the hill station. The path was named after him in recognition of his contribution. Over the years, Coaker's Walk has become one of the most popular attractions in Kodaikanal, drawing tourists from all over the world. It offers a unique perspective on the natural beauty of the Palani Hills and serves as a reminder of the town's colonial past.
