History:
Valluvar Kottam was constructed in 1976 by the then Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, M. Karunanidhi, to honor Thiruvalluvar and his timeless work, the Thirukkural. The construction involved meticulous planning and craftsmanship to ensure the inscriptions of the Thirukkural were accurately reproduced on the granite slabs.
