History:
The Anna Centenary Library was established in 2010 to commemorate the birth centenary of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C.N. Annadurai. Conceived as a world-class library, it was designed to promote reading and research among the public. The library was built on a sprawling 8-acre campus and initially housed over 500,000 books. Over the years, the library has expanded its collection and facilities, becoming a prominent landmark in Chennai. Despite facing some political controversies and proposed relocations, the library has remained a vital resource for students, researchers, and the general public, continuing to serve as a center for learning and intellectual engagement.
