History:
Fateh Sagar Lake was originally constructed in 1678 by Maharana Jai Singh. However, it was later reconstructed and extended by Maharana Fateh Singh in the late 19th century after a dam burst. The lake is named after him. The Nehru Park island was developed later and houses a small zoo and a restaurant. The lake serves as a major source of drinking water for Udaipur and is also important for irrigation. Its picturesque location and historical significance make it a prominent landmark of the city.
