Ana Sagar Lake is an artificial lake in Ajmer, Rajasthan, India, located about 13 km from Pushkar. Built by Arnoraja Chauhan, grandfather of Prithviraj Chauhan, in 1135-1150 AD, it is spread over 13 km. The lake is surrounded by Daulat Bagh Gardens, a public park with marble pavilions and fountains built by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan. Various migratory birds visit the lake during winter, making it a popular spot for birdwatching. Boating and enjoying the scenic views are popular activities. Food stalls around the lake offer local snacks and refreshments.
Ana Sagar Lake was built by Arnoraja Chauhan, the grandfather of the famous warrior Prithviraj Chauhan, between 1135 and 1150 AD. Originally named Anasagar, after the king, it was constructed by damming the Luni River.
