History:
The Battle of Longewala, fought in December 1971, was a pivotal moment in the Indo-Pakistani War. A small company of Indian soldiers, primarily from the 23rd Battalion, Punjab Regiment, bravely defended their post against a much larger Pakistani armored column. Despite being heavily outnumbered and lacking immediate air support initially, the Indian soldiers held their ground throughout the night, inflicting heavy casualties on the enemy. The Indian Air Force eventually arrived in the morning, decimating the Pakistani forces and securing a decisive victory.
