The history of Pandupol Hanuman Temple is deeply intertwined with the epic Mahabharata. Legend has it that during their exile, the Pandavas passed through this region. Draupadi, feeling distressed, asked Bhima to fetch her some Saugandhika flowers. Bhima, known for his strength, encountered Hanuman, who was resting in the form of an old monkey, blocking his path. Bhima, unaware of Hanuman's true identity, tried to move him but failed. It was then that Hanuman revealed his divine form and blessed Bhima.
