History:
Diveagar's history is intertwined with the legend of the 'Suvarna Ganesh' idol. In 1997, a local woman discovered a copper box buried in her field, containing a pure gold idol of Lord Ganesha. This discovery made Diveagar an instant pilgrimage site. However, the original golden idol was unfortunately stolen in 2012. A silver idol has been instated in its place. Beyond the temple, Diveagar has been a quiet coastal village for centuries, primarily dependent on agriculture and fishing. The beach's natural beauty has gradually attracted tourists, leading to the development of small-scale tourism infrastructure, including guesthouses and restaurants.
