History:
Durgadas Rathore (1638-1718) was a Rajput general of the Rathore clan who served the state of Marwar (Jodhpur) during the Mughal rule. He is known for his courage, loyalty, and unwavering resistance against the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb. He played a crucial role in protecting the young prince Ajit Singh from Aurangzeb's clutches and eventually restoring him to the throne of Marwar. The Chhatri in Ujjain marks the spot where Durgadas Rathore breathed his last. It stands as a testament to his unwavering commitment to his land and his people.
