History:
Koshak Mahal was commissioned in 1445 by Mahmud Shah Khilji of the Malwa Sultanate as a victory monument after defeating the Sharqi dynasty of Jaunpur. It is believed to have been built to commemorate his brief conquest of Kalpi.
