History:

The Jatayu Earth's Center is the brainchild of filmmaker and sculptor Rajiv Anchal. The concept originated in the late 1980s, driven by the desire to create a landmark that celebrated Kerala's rich cultural heritage and promoted tourism. Construction of the massive Jatayu sculpture began in 2011 and took nearly a decade to complete. The sculpture symbolizes the protection of women and their safety, inspired by the mythological bird Jatayu's attempt to rescue Sita from Ravana in the epic Ramayana. The park was officially opened to the public in 2018 and has since become a major tourist attraction, drawing visitors from around the world. It stands as a testament to artistic vision, engineering prowess, and cultural significance.
