History:
The Old Church, dedicated to St. George, was established in 593 AD, making it one of the oldest churches in India. It has undergone several renovations and expansions throughout its history. Legend says that the church was miraculously saved from destruction on multiple occasions. As the congregation grew, the need for a larger church became apparent, leading to the construction of the New Church. The foundation stone for the New Church was laid in 1998, and it was consecrated in 2015. The New Church, built in the Syro-Malabar style, is one of the largest churches in India. Both churches stand side-by-side, representing the continuity of faith and the evolution of architecture over centuries.
