History:
Aspinwall House was built in 1867 by John Aspinwall, an English trader, as a trading post for spices and other goods. It served as a major hub for commercial activities during the British colonial era. Over the centuries, the property changed hands and eventually fell into disuse. In 2010, the Aspinwall House was rediscovered and restored as a cultural venue, becoming a prominent location for the Kochi-Muziris Biennale, initiated in 2012. Today, it stands as a testament to Kochi's rich history and its evolving artistic landscape.
