Iruppu Falls is a majestic waterfall located in the Brahmagiri mountain range of Kodagu, India. Cascading down from a height of about 50 feet, the falls create a mesmerizing spectacle amidst lush green surroundings. The Lakshmana Tirtha River, originating from these falls, is considered sacred by Hindus.
According to legend, Lord Rama, a revered Hindu deity, was searching for his abducted wife, Sita. While passing through this region, he was thirsty and shot an arrow into the Brahmagiri hills, creating a stream of water that became the Lakshmana Tirtha River. Iruppu Falls is thus considered a sacred pilgrimage site for Hindus.
