History:
Established in 1994, Daroji Bear Sanctuary evolved from a barren landscape to a thriving sanctuary. It was initially a cluster of hillocks where locals would quarry for granite. Recognizing the presence of sloth bears in the region, the forest department, in collaboration with local communities, took initiatives to protect the bears and their habitat. Over time, the sanctuary has successfully rehabilitated the sloth bear population, transforming the area into a model for wildlife conservation.
