History:
Originally called Meade's Park, Cubbon Park was envisioned by Major General Richard Sankey, the chief engineer of Mysore state, in 1870. It was later renamed in honor of Sir Mark Cubbon, the longest-serving Commissioner of Mysore. The park was officially established in 1884 and has since become an integral part of Bangalore's history and cultural heritage. Over the years, it has witnessed numerous historical events and served as a prominent gathering place for the city's residents. Its historical buildings, such as the Attara Kacheri and the Seshadri Iyer Memorial Hall, stand as testaments to its rich past.
