History:

Swami Satyananda Saraswati, a renowned yoga guru, established Rikhia Yogashram in 1989. He chose Rikhiapeeth, a remote village, for its spiritual vibrations and the opportunity to uplift the underprivileged tribal communities. Inspired by the teachings of his guru, Swami Sivananda Saraswati, Swami Satyananda envisioned the ashram as a center for yogic learning, selfless service, and spiritual awakening. He initiated the 'Sivananda Math' to provide food, clothing, and education to the needy. Over the years, Rikhia Yogashram has grown into a significant spiritual center attracting seekers from across the globe. It is known for its emphasis on karma yoga (selfless service) as a path to spiritual growth and its commitment to serving humanity.
