History:
The history of Naulakha Mandir is quite interesting. It was built by Rani Charushila Devi, the queen of Pathuria Ghat Rajbari in Kolkata. Deeply affected by personal tragedy, she sought solace in spirituality. Inspired by the teachings of Balananda Brahmachari, she decided to build a temple. The construction of the temple started in 1934 and took around nine years to complete. The total cost incurred was INR 9 lakhs, a significant amount at that time, hence the name 'Naulakha Mandir'. The temple stands as a testament to Rani Charushila Devi's devotion and her commitment to providing a sacred space for devotees.
