History:
The history of Baba Jitto Temple dates back to the 15th century. Baba Jitto, a farmer, cultivated land granted by the local landlord. When the landlord demanded an exorbitant share of the harvest, Baba Jitto refused, upholding his principles of fairness. Facing severe pressure and unwilling to compromise, he tragically ended his life in protest. His daughter, Bua Devi, also sacrificed her life in grief. The temple was built to commemorate their sacrifice and has since become a symbol of resistance against injustice. The story of Baba Jitto is deeply ingrained in the local folklore and continues to inspire generations.
