Nehru Kund is a natural spring located about 6 km from Manali on the National Highway leading to Leh. It is known for its crystal-clear icy cold water believed to originate from the Bhrigu Lake high in the Himalayas. The spring is named after India's first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, who was said to have regularly drunk water from this spring during his visits to Manali. Surrounded by towering deodar trees, Nehru Kund offers a serene and picturesque setting. It's a popular stop for tourists traveling to or from Rohtang Pass. The area around the spring is well-maintained and offers a refreshing break from the journey.

History:

Nehru Kund is named after Jawaharlal Nehru, India's first Prime Minister. During his frequent visits to Manali, Nehru would reportedly quench his thirst with the refreshing water from this natural spring. The constant flow of icy cold water, even during summer, impressed him. Over time, the spring became associated with him and was thus named Nehru Kund in his honor. The site remains a popular attraction, drawing visitors with its historical significance and natural beauty.
