History:
Bharmaur, formerly known as Brahmpur, served as the capital of the Chamba kingdom for around 400 years, starting from the 6th century AD. It was founded by Raja Maru Varman, who established his dynasty here. The Chaurasi Temples, constructed during the 7th and 8th centuries, stand as a testament to the region's rich architectural and religious heritage. The kingdom later shifted its capital to Chamba town, but Bharmaur retained its religious significance.
