History:
According to the Mahabharata, during the Kurukshetra War, Bhishma Pitamah, the grandsire of the Kuru dynasty, was fatally wounded and lay on a bed of arrows. Parched with thirst, he asked Arjuna for water. Unable to move, ordinary water was out of reach. Arjuna, a skilled archer, shot an arrow into the earth, piercing it and creating a spring of fresh water that quenched Bhishma's thirst. This miraculous spring is believed to be the origin of Bhishma Kund. Over time, the site became a revered pilgrimage spot, commemorating Bhishma's sacrifice and Arjuna's skill. The kund has been renovated and maintained, preserving its historical and religious importance for generations of devotees.
