History:

Kaba Gandhi No Delo was the residence of Mahatma Gandhi's father, Karamchand Uttamchand Gandhi, who served as the Diwan (chief minister) of Rajkot. Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, later known as Mahatma Gandhi, spent his formative years here, from 1881 to 1887. The house witnessed the early stages of his life, shaping his values and beliefs. The building itself is a traditional Gujarati style house, reflecting the architecture of the time. It was later converted into a museum to preserve and showcase the life of Gandhi and his family. The museum provides a glimpse into the life of the Gandhi family and offers insights into the early influences that shaped the young Mohandas into the Mahatma.
