History:
Constructed in the 18th century during the reign of Rao Lakhpatji, Aina Mahal was designed by Ramsinh Malam, a master craftsman who spent 17 years in Europe. The palace was built as a royal residence and a repository for the king's art and curiosities. Its unique design reflects a mix of Indian and European influences, showcasing the king's cosmopolitan tastes. The 2001 Gujarat earthquake caused significant damage to the structure, but the palace has been partially restored, allowing visitors to appreciate its architectural and artistic grandeur.
