Description:

The Rukmini Temple, dedicated to Lord Krishna's beloved wife Rukmini, is a significant shrine in Dwarka. It's known for its intricate carvings, beautiful architecture, and serene atmosphere. The temple's main deity is a black idol of Rukmini. The temple complex also houses smaller shrines and a sacred pond. Devotees believe that visiting this temple blesses them with marital harmony and prosperity. It's a must-visit for anyone exploring Dwarka's spiritual heritage, offering a peaceful escape from the bustling city.

History:

Legend says that the Rukmini Temple was constructed after a curse from sage Durvasa. Once, Krishna and Rukmini invited Durvasa for a meal. When Durvasa asked for water, Rukmini offered it before Krishna could. Angered by this, Durvasa cursed that Rukmini would live separately from Krishna. As a result, the temple is located two kilometers away from Dwarkadhish Temple. The temple's architecture suggests it was built in the 12th century, with later renovations. It stands as a testament to the devotion and legends associated with Lord Krishna and Rukmini.
