History:
The Gaurisagar Tank was commissioned by Queen Phuleswari, also known as Pramateshwari Devi, during the reign of the Ahom king Swargadeo Siva Singha in the 18th century. The tank was named after Queen Phuleswari, who was also known as Gauri. It was dug to provide water for the local population and to serve as a symbol of the Ahom kingdom's prosperity and power.
