History:

The history of the Kanipakam Vinayaka Temple dates back to the 11th century CE, during the reign of the Chola dynasty. Legend says that three brothers, mute, deaf, and blind, were cultivating land. When they drew water from a well, it turned red with blood. They dug deeper and discovered the idol of Lord Vinayaka. Miraculously, the three brothers gained their senses. The well where the idol was found is still present and considered sacred. Over time, the temple was developed and expanded by various rulers, including the Vijayanagara kings. The temple's unique feature is the idol's growth, which is said to be a continuous process.
