History:

Rewalsar's history is deeply intertwined with religious legends. It is believed that the Hindu sage Lomas Rishi meditated here, and the lake is considered sacred. Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth Sikh Guru, also visited Rewalsar, and a gurdwara commemorates his visit. The Tibetan Buddhist connection stems from the belief that Guru Rinpoche (Padmasambhava) used his powers to fly from here to Tibet. The lake itself is said to have been created by Guru Rinpoche. Over the centuries, Rewalsar has evolved into a significant pilgrimage site for multiple faiths, preserving its historical and religious importance.
